About the IIC

The Institute's Innovation Council of the college was established in 2022. An Institute’s Innovation Council is vital for enriching students' educational experiences by fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. It provides a platform for students to explore and apply their skills, offering workshops, mentorship, and resources. The council promotes a culture of critical thinking, skill development, and networking, contributing to students' overall development and preparing them for real-world challenges. Through initiatives like incubation support, competitions, and collaboration with industry partners, the council nurtures a dynamic environment that empowers students to transform ideas into tangible outcomes, enhancing their academic and professional journeys.

Objectives

The objective of the IIC at Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College is to:

• Meet once in a quarter to formalize the discussion and keep action points for activities in the coming quarter and regularly update it
• Identification of the best of ideas and providing them a ‘womb’ to incubate, eventually to transform into a Startup or entrepreneur endeavor
• Soliciting an entrepreneur through the application of knowledge and expertise –‘Academic’ as well as ‘Industrial’
• Empowering an idea with all important ingredients and resources aiding its conversion into a successful product or service
• Helping entrepreneurs to grow holistically with business acumen
• Bring socio-economic change in the country by finding innovative solutions to the daily met problems

Staff Representation

Functions of IIC

• To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central
• MIC in a time-bound fashion
• Identify and reward innovations and share success stories
• Organize periodic workshops/seminars/interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators
• Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations
• Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by the institution's faculty and students
• Organize Hackathons, idea competitions, mini-challenges, etc. with the involvement of industries

Roles & Responsibility of the IIC

The roles and responsibility of different members of IIC at Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College is defined as under:

Staff Representation:

President

• The President will constitute the IIC council and appoint its members
• He is responsible for ensuring that the Quarterly Council Meeting is planned effectively
• Conduct Council Meeting in accordance with prescribed rules and that matters are dealt with in an orderly, efficient manner
• He will lead the IIC Council and will have the IIC portal Login ID and will be the custodian of IIC portal login and data/ reports uploaded therein
• He will call the meetings, set a meeting agenda, and will monitor the deliverables
• He will be the main point of contact with MHRD Innovation Cell
• He will respond to all communication from the IIC National Coordination team (MHRD Innovation Cell) and will be responsible to ensure the decent performance of IIC
• He will coordinate with the MHRD innovation cell and be responsible for all the IIC activities in the institute
• He will ensure the Institution's participation in IIC calendar activity and take lead in the institution-driven activities (own initiatives)
• He will ensure the effective implementation of IIC activities with the help of the Convenor
• He could change the council members as per the decision taken in council meetings and update the information on the portal

Convenor / President

• She will ensure the effective implementation of IIC activities as decided by the council
• She will have new ideas for the effective functioning of the council from time to time

Innovation Activity Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Innovation ecosystem at ITH
• He will be responsible to implement Innovation related activities at the College

Startup Activity Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Start-up ecosystem atCollege
• He will be responsible to implement Start-up related activities at College

Internship Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to encourage the Internship opportunities for the students of our College
• He will be responsible to implement activities for the betterment of the Internship opportunities at College

IPR Coordinator

• To promote awareness about IPRs and conduct related activities on campus or as mandated in IIC council meetings

IPR Coordinator

• To suggest points of improvement in line with the requirement of NIRF Ranking to the council

Innovation Ambassador

• He/she promote and facilitate the implementation of I & E activities at College
• Train Faculty & Students at College in Innovation and Entrepreneurship for effective implementation of I & E activities in-line with the training imparted by MoE’s MIC

Social Media Coordinator

• He will act as Secretary for the council, will prepare Minutes of meetings, and will be responsible for submitting the monthly progress/activity reports on the IIC portal
• Train Faculty & Students at College in Innovation and Entrepreneurship for effective implementation of I & E activities in-line with the training imparted by MoE’s MIC
• Share relevant updates from the social media platforms with the IIC

Expert Representation:

IP Expert / Patent Expert

• Assisting and conducting prior art searches in respective technology domains
• Liaison with an IP attorney office for filing National & International patent applications
• Helping in Patentability search for the inventions and research proposals
• Conducting awareness and training programmes on IPR and its allied topics
• Coordinating in Patent drafting in tandem with inventor & IP attorney offices
• Maintaining the IIT-H Patent database and categorizing various stages of its prosecution
• Conducting freedom to create for a prototypes
• Handling of Orbit-Express, Intelligence patent search database as an Admin
• Patent landscaping for business development
• Drafting and vetting of technology patentability assessment reports
• Exploring the opportunities for Technology Transfer & etc
• Handling and uploading of Institute's Innovations in Yukti2.0 portal" at IP Expert / Patent

Startup / Alumni Entrepreneur

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Start-up/ Entrepreneurship ecosystem at College
• He will be responsible to implement Start-up related activities at College

Expert from nearby Industry / Industry association / Ecosystem Enablers

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Start-up/ Entrepreneurship ecosystem at College
• He will be responsible to implement Start-up related activities at College

FI/ Bank Investor/ Angel Investor/ VC

• Assisting the team at College with the idea of fund generation and effective utilization

Incubation Centre

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Start-up/ Entrepreneurship ecosystem at College
• He will be responsible to implement Start-up related activities at College

Student Representation:

Startup Activity Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Start-up/ Entrepreneurship ecosystem at College
• Act as a liaison between the student community and IIC

Innovation Activity Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Innovation ecosystem at College
• Act as a liaison between the student community and IIC

Internship Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Innovation ecosystem at College
• Act as a liaison between the student community and IIC

IPR Coordinator

• He will act as a medium of communication between IIC and students, and encourage them to participate in IIC activities
• He will understand the concept, idea, and method of participation in IIC activities anddisseminate it to all the students
• He will act as a volunteer for IIC programs and will support the IPR faculty coordinator in conducting events and awareness programs on IPR

Internship Coordinator

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Innovation ecosystem at College
• Act as a liaison between the student community and IIC

Social Media Coordinator

• Promote the “I & E” Activity Coordinated by IIC at College on the social media platforms of the College’s students
• Share relevant updates from the social media platforms with the IIC

• He will be responsible to bring the ideas to the council to promote the Start-up/ Entrepreneurship ecosystem at College
• Act as a liaison between the student community and IIC
