India is a land of festivals, commemorated with enthusiasm. The wide variety of festivals celebrated in India is a true manifestation of its rich culture and traditions. As Kaamadhenu always encourage students to celebrate the traditional festivals, the boys and girls dressed in traditional attire celebrated Pongal on 13th January 2020. It created awareness among the students to learn to do it in traditional way and realise the importance of it. They had healthy competition between the departments for making the best pongal. The important aspect of the celebration was decorations, hand drawn traditional kolam and cooking sweet pongal in earthen pot. To encourage students’ participation, rangoli competition was held in the college ground followed by traditional games like tug of war and breaking pot. Finally cows were brought to the campus and arranged for bullock cart ride which gave students a new experience.
