Research Policy

Research is one of the most important dimensions of quality in any higher education Institution. Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College has started a Research and Development Cell to promote research, innovation and intellectual knowledge in the year of 2017. It aims to identify research areas of academic, practical and social relevance. It also motivates faculty members and research scholars to be involved in the research field and to encourage the faculty to inculcate the research culture to enhance their knowledge in their respective field.

The research policy of the Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College serves as an overall framework for research activities that may be carried out in this institution.

To be the best Institution by conducting world-class research, scholarship, and creative activities that develop knowledge and contribute to the economic growth and social advancement of the nation and benefit humanity as a whole.

Mission

To develop and expand innovative research programs that align well with institutional mission and strategic plan, address important national and global needs, and through technology transfer and Commercializations noticeably support the economic development of the nation.

Objectives

  • Create and promote Research culture among the faculty and students
  • Undertake research activities and development projects offered by agencies such as UGC, DBT, CSIR, ICSSR, DST, etc
  • Ensure Quality, Integrity and Ethics in Research
  • Encourage and facilitate the publication of the research works in academic International/National Journals
  • Encourage faculty members to attend workshops/seminars/conferences
  • To motivate the department coordinators to encourage students for further studies and to involve in the existing research projects
  • Create space and environment where there is free and healthy discussion of research work and ideal like creation of study circles
  • Establish linkage with other research organisations and industries to identify potential areas of research, surveys and other basic research enquiry
  • The college shall encourage faculty to take up research by providing incentives, sanctioning leave if research work demands survey or field work, granting OD and flexibility to pursue research related work
  • College shall encourage faculty to take up Dr. or M.Phil on part-time research
  • Access to research journals and e- resources to be arranged by the library centre
  • Research cell shall encourage students to take up mini and major projects to gain additional credits
  • Researchers shall work together to strengthen the integrity of research and to review the progress of research regularly
Functions

  • To encourage faculty members to prepare research proposals, interdisciplinary research, product design and development, publications in reputed journals and conferences
  • To initiate and promote MOU with industries and R&D organisations; for consultancy, collaborative research, sponsored projects, etc
  • To arrange talks and interactions by eminent personalities from Industry, R&D organisation and institutions of repute; for the better understanding of research methodology and practices currently followed
  • To suggest peer reviewed national and international journals for subscription in the central library
  • To develop research proposals for up-gradation of laboratories through UGC funding opportunities
  • To encourage faculty to apply for patents or other Intellectual Property Rights
  • To allocate a budget for conducting workshops, training programs, seminars, conferences and faculty Development Program and also for the faculty who are attending workshops, conferences and paper presentations outside the institute
  • To motivate faculty and students to design, fabricate and implement viable functional projects for the benefits of the institute and society
  • To motivate students and faculty for presenting technical papers/projects at least in National conferences, competitions and exhibitions

  • The Research department of the college offers responsible research opportunities, supervisors, standards and support for good practice to all research scholars who are associated with the college
  • The research department of the college has under printed by the fundamental principles of integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due care, confidentiality and professional behaviour in all the research pursuing
  • The college follows the research ethics principles associated with the research works of the modern research scenario honesty, objectivity and respect of intellectual property, responsible management, respect to co researchers and supervisors, social responsibility, anti-discrimination and contribution to the society
  • Individuals who hold the qualification as per norms of Bharathiar University and UGC shall engage in educational research
Administration

  • The organisational structure of RDC (Bodies, Authorities and Committees) will assist planning, execution and monitor in research activities in Kaamadhenu Arts and Science College and also formulate rules, regulations and policy frameworks for utilisation of facilities and resources at their institution
  • The activities of RDC are mentored and monitored by various committees for devising research models, technology, appraisal for sight and review functions, mediating sectoral R&D progress, and IPR protection
  • RDC will be keeping a close contact with Ministry Innovation Cell to make use of various innovative plans for facilitating the researcher
